It’s been months now that we have been doing our part to keep ourselves and our communities safe by staying at home, but needless to say that it has been an uprooting of our regular daily routines, including that of self-care. With the reopening of spas on the horizon, a lot of us are looking forward to a long-awaited, detoxing, and sculpting massage to help get us back on track with our physical and health goals. But with so many different types of massages out there, which one is right for you?
Here, we talk about the difference between the Palper Rouler, the Brazilian Massage and Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
The Palper Rouler (pronounced pal-peh-roo-leh), is a body contouring massage that specializes in reducing and eliminating cellulite. It does so by using a French technique of skin rolling and myofascial release to help eliminate fat cells, lose weight, improve skin texture, and flush out toxins. This massage requires that our therapists tailor the technique to your specific needs, skin texture, conditions and goals.
The main difference between the Palper Rouler and the Brazilian massage is that the French skin rolling technique is more effective in releasing the fascia and breaking up the fat deposits. This manual technique of pinching and rolling breaks down fat cells that lie right beneath the skin and cause the dimples and orange peel appearance of cellulite. The Brazilian massage uses more vigorous movements like kneading, sliding, pinching, and percussion which affects muscles as opposed to fat. However, similarly to our Palper Rouler, the Brazilian massage includes strokes that promote lymphatic drainage.
The lymphatic drainage massage on its own is used to encourage healthy lymph flow.
The strokes are gentle and light, as the focus is to promote the circulation of the lymph fluid to the lymph nodes. This massage results in increased immunity, better digestive health, eliminations of toxins, reduced inflammation, and a more balanced nervous system. You will see immediate results in the reduction of water retention.
Our signature massage consists of a combination of The French technique Palper Rouler with lymphatic strokes and if necessary, the use of sliding massage cupping depending on your level of cellulite, condition, and texture of your skin.
For our massages, we use organic and vegan oils imported from France: “Mon Huilette” or organic Coconut Oil from French polynesia, they support your health, hydrate your skin and leave your skin feeling and looking radiant.
